Surface and Interface Science Laboratory
Openings
- Postdoctoral position in experimental surface science
The project addresses the atomistic mechanism of metal oxidation using high-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) in combination with other surface science techniques such as Auger electron spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Candidates with prior hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems, STM, XPS, Auger, and sample preparation under UHV conditions will be considered. Please send your application to Professor Guangwen Zhou ( gzhou@binghamton.edu).
- PhD student position in in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM)
This project is to apply in-situ environmental TEM techniques to study the nanoscale oxidation of metals. Students with interests and background on transmission electron microscopy characterization of nanomaterials are encouraged to apply. Please send your application to Professor Guangwen Zhou ( gzhou@binghamton.edu).
