2026. 9. 9 The SUNY Brain Institute Initiative proposal, led by Dr. Paek, has been selected for $500,000 in capital funding. As a Co-PI, Dr. Choi will lead the fabrication and optimization of the microelectrode array (MEA) interface, leveraging his expertise in electrochemical sensing, real-time electrophysiological signal acquisition, and scalable laser micromachining to enable characterization of amyloid-induced neuronal dysfunction.
2026. 6. 30 Prof. Choi received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2026, following his earlier recognition with the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities in 2020. While his research accomplishments have been widely recognized, this teaching award further demonstrates his strong dedication to student learning, mentorship, and academic excellence. Together, these honors reflect his balanced commitment to both impactful research and high-quality education.
