2019. 8. 21 -  Our article, "A Paper-based Biological Solar Cell," has been accepted by SLAS Tehcnology.

2019. 8. 14 -  Our article, "A fully disposable 64-well papertronic sensing array for screening electroactive microorganisms," has been accepted by Nano Energy.

2019. 8. 7 - Four papers have been accepted for oral/poster presentations at 2019 MRS Fall Meeting and Exhibit (Dec. 1-6, 2019, Boston)

2019. 7. 26 -  Dr. Choi is invited to give a talk at the 31st Annual Electronics Packaging Symposium - Small Systems Integration on Sep. 5 and 6, 2019.

2019. 7. 10 - Archita Kothari from Nirma University in India successfully completed her Summer 2019 Intership in Dr. Choi's Lab.

2019. 6. 6 - Many news agencies highlighted our work on solid-phase biobatteries for IoT, published in Journal of Power Sources. The media outlets include Sciecedaily, Siliconrepublic, Newswise, and many others.

 

2019. 6. 6 -  Dr. Choi has been awarded an 1-year single-PI fund from Integrated Electronics Engineering Center (IEEC) on paper-based printed circuit boards.

2019. 6. 1 -  Dr. Choi is invited to give a Keynote talk on Biobatteries at 12th International Conference & Exhibition on Biosensors and Bioelectronics (Oct. 25~26, 2019 at Vancouver, Canada)

2019. 5. 24 -  Our article, "A Self-Charging Cyanobacterial Supercapacitor," has been accepted by Biosensors and Bioelectronics.

2019. 5. 20 -  Dr. Choi is invited to give a talk at 2020 TMS Meeting (Feb. 23-27) in San Diego (Functional Nanomaterials 2020: Translting Innovation into Pioneering Technologies)

2019. 5. 17 - Congratulations to Jason Ephraim for his M.S. gradutation.

2019. 5. 13 - Dr. Choi (PI), collaborating with Dr. Cook (Co-PI), received 2019-2020 Smart Energy TAE Seed Grant Award ($15,000).

2019. 5. 5 -  Dr. Choi is invited to give talks at 2020 MRS Spring (Apr. 13-17) in Arizona (Symposium SM05 - Engineering Functional Multicellular Circuits, Devices, and Systems)

2019. 5. 4 -  Dr. Choi is invited to Science Foo Camp 2019 (July 12-14 in Mountain View, CA; organized by Google, O'Reilly Media, and Digital Science) - Only 350 People are invited from around the world who                     are doing groundbreaking work in diverse ares of science and technology.

2019. 5. 2 -  Our article, "A solid-state bacteria-powered biobattery for low-power, low-cost, internet of disposable things," has been accepted by Jounal of Power Sources.

2019. 5. 1 -  Dr. Choi as a PI in collaboration with co-PI Dr. Koh at BME received $452k grant from NSF for research on Bioenergy Generation from Sweat-Eating Bacteria.

2019. 4. 8 -  Our article, "An equipment-free, paper-based electrochemical sensor for visual monitoring of glucose levels in urine," has been accepted by SLAS Tehcnology.

2019. 3. 1 -  Two papers have been accepted for presentation at American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Microbe 2019 (June 20~24, 2019, San Francisco).

                    (1) Electricity Generation from Sweat-eating bacteria & (2) Electrogenic capabilities of Gut Bacteria

2019. 2. 21 -  A comprehensive reivew of "Biobatteries" has been accepted by Advanced Materials Technology (In-print).

2019. 2. 12 -  Dr. Choi serves as an editorial board member in Robotics (MDPI).

2019. 1. 14 -  Our Ph.D student, Maedeh Mohammadifar, has been selected as a recipient of a Graduate Student Excellence Award for Excellence in Research for 2019.

2019. 1. 8 -  Our paper entitled "A single-use, self-powered, paper-based sensor patch for detection of exercise-induced hypoglycemia" published in Micromachines has been selected as the best paper in 2018.
