Short biography

Emrah Akyol (Ph.D.: University of California Santa-Barbara, 2011) is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Binghamton University-SUNY, where he has been since 2017. He was a postdoctoral scholar at UIUC from 2014 to 2017, and at USC from 2013 to 2014.

Prof. Akyol is a Senior Member of the IEEE. His research interests are broadly in the area of networked systems theory and algorithms, at the intersection of control, optimization and game theory; communications, and information theory. His current focus is on the design and analysis of secure (socio-)cyber-physical systems, with research challenges pertaining to strategic communication, opinion evolution in social networks and stealthy data injection attacks in multi-agent systems.
