Welcome to the Watson Engineering
Learning Community
in Mountainview College!

     The Watson Engineering Learning Community (WELC) was established in the Fall of 2007 to build on the successes of the learning community model while enhancing recruitment and retention of students entering the common freshmen design class.  Housed in Mountainview College residential community, programming begins before students arrive at Binghamton and extends throughout the freshmen academic year.  In addition to common-year class work, students take trips to industry and work on design projects intended to inspire and excite while working with peers who share similar interests and motivations.  Due to its tremendous success in Fall 2007, WELC has doubled its enrollment for Fall 2008!

In short the Watson Engineering Learning Community is designed to encourage small teams, big thoughts and a beyond-the-box future.  It is the place where you can begin your journey and establish life-long friendships.
